PERMANENT INTERIORS
Hospitality, workplace and residential
Interiors designed to perform across multiple modes. Spaces that shift from everyday workplace to immersive experience without compromise. Coffee bar by day, cocktail bar by night.
Built for daily use and long-term wear, with structure, services, furniture and lighting integrated from the outset.
BRAND EXPERIENCES
Live environments, built like permanent ones
Activations, installations and experiential builds for brands and creative teams. Structural and material decisions are made at the same level whether the install lasts a week or a decade.
The Dragonfly is a full-scale space motorbike replica we built for an event in 2018. Over 1,500 people have sat on it since and it's still in service.
SPECIALIST COMMISSIONS
One-off objects, prototypes and precision builds
Furniture, sculptural objects, engineered display platforms and complex prototypes. Projects that fall outside standard categories, shaped by what the brief actually requires.
Clients come to us with briefs other fabricators have turned down, or with ideas they haven't shown to anyone else yet. Discretion is part of the work.
How it’s made
Every project runs through the same three-stage process. The scale changes. The discipline doesn't.
01 CONCEPT
Clarity before design
We interrogate the brief before we draw anything. Feasibility, spatial logic and material strategy are resolved upfront, so design decisions later are built on solid ground rather than assumption.
02 DESIGN
Intent becomes constructible
We draw, model and prototype in-house. Structure, materials and assembly are integrated from the first sketch, which means technical risk is resolved on paper rather than on site.
03 REALITY
We build what we design
Fabrication, finishing and installation are coordinated as one process by the team that designed it. Responsibility is continuous from the first sketch to the last bolt tightened on site.
Why we work this way
Most studios hand work between teams. Design to engineering, engineering to fabrication, fabrication to installation. Every handover is a point where intent gets diluted and responsibility gets distributed.
JRDF runs every project end to end. The person who draws it is in the same studio as the people who build it, which means the detail that matters on paper still matters when it gets made.
Much of our work is private. Clients trust us with proprietary systems, sensitive environments and commercially confidential briefs. That trust shapes how we operate.
