INITIAL BRIEF:
Transform the area surrounding a staff kitchen with “in-game” cladding based on concept art from Nathan Dearsley (Squadron 42 Art Director) .
KEY FEATURES:
Design should be made up of interior elements from “Aciedo Communications Satellite” (a location from Squadron 42).
The development of the project must use as little game developer time as possible.
As many building services should be cleverly hidden by the wall cladding.
All lighting elements must be RGB and integrate with the building’s smart lighting system.
Install must meet fire safety specifications for the building.
Elements must be true to the game, not just inspired by Squadron 42, but a life-size recreation of the game’s interior spaces.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The greatest challenges of this project were the design limitations caused by the building services running through the space. Creating the finish of the abandoned space station to match the look Nathan was looking for in this space took many hours of design iteration and a huge amount of work from the whole team.
